PomoPlan Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026

PomoPlan ("we", "our", or "the app") is a productivity app developed by OdakStudio. This policy explains how we handle your data.

Data We Collect

PomoPlan stores all tasks, habits, Pomodoro sessions, and settings locally on your device. We do not collect or transmit this data to our servers.

Cloud Backup

If you choose to use the cloud backup feature, your data is saved to your personal Google Drive account. We do not have access to your Google Drive or the backed-up data. This feature requires Google Sign-In.

Advertising

The free version of PomoPlan displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your advertising ID and device information to serve personalized ads. You can learn more at Google's Privacy Policy.

In-App Purchases

Premium subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed through Google Play and managed by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment information. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Permissions

Accessibility Service (Strict Mode)

PomoPlan includes an optional feature called Strict Mode, which uses Android's Accessibility Service API. This feature is off by default and the app works fully without it. It must be turned on manually by the user from Settings, after reading and accepting an in-app disclosure dialog.

What data is accessed

While a focus session is active and Strict Mode is enabled, the service receives only the package name (e.g. com.example.app) of the app that comes to the foreground. The service does not read screen content, text on the screen, typed input, notifications, or any other on-screen information. This is enforced at the manifest level via android:canRetrieveWindowContent="false", and the service listens only to typeWindowStateChanged events.

Why we use it

When the user opens a different app during an active focus session, PomoPlan detects the package switch in real time and brings the user back to PomoPlan, helping them stay focused. We considered Android's UsageStatsManager API as an alternative, but it provides delayed and sampled data and cannot reliably trigger a real-time response to a package change, which is required for this feature to be useful.

How the data is handled

Why this is not an accessibility tool

PomoPlan's Accessibility Service is declared with android:isAccessibilityTool="false" because Strict Mode is a productivity feature, not a tool that assists users with disabilities.

How to revoke

You can disable Strict Mode at any time from Settings → Strict Mode inside PomoPlan, or by turning the service off in Android Settings → Accessibility → Installed services → PomoPlan Strict Mode.

Children's Privacy

PomoPlan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
